The purpose of this study is to categorize and clarify rural planning system in
japan. To such this study, Firstly, Existing rural plans are gathered and
categorized, which are composed of related five plans. In japan, No single law
deal with all aspects of rural planning and development. Rural planning and
development are dealt with by a number of law and the other schemes of
government. Secondly, Existing rural planning system is examined in the theory of
planning process, which is planning area, establishment, execution and control
of rural planning. In addition, Some implication for improving rural planning system
in korea is drew.
