The purpose of this study is to suggest the policy option in urban regenerationpolicy in terms of environmental equity through a comparative analysis of parkaccessibility of socioeconomic minority in the city of Seoul. Based on spatial analysistechniques using 2012 the Seoul administrative districts’ data, Namyoung-dong,Noryangjin 2-dong, Yongsan 2ga-dong and Bangwha 2-dong were identified as thefirst policy priority districts. Dobong 2-dong, Sangbong 2-dong, Segok-dong, Suyu2-dong, Yeongdeungpo-dong, Jegi-dong and Cheonho 3-dong appeared as thesecond policy priority group.The eleven administrative districts identified in this study are areas included inthe old city center of the Seoul. For these areas, some policy options aimed atenhancing residents’ access to parks need to be implemented. Hence, as this studyanalyzed the areas requiring priority consideration for urban policies from theperspective of environmental equity, it offers significant policy implications forimproving environmental equity in providing public services, and suggests a numberof diagnostic criteria for alleviating regional polarization in the city of Seoul in termsof environmental welfare.
