The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of client violence on job satisfaction for ‘Outreach Community Service Center’ welfare team workers and to explore ways to mitigate job satisfaction caused by client violence. This study identify the relationship between client violence and job satisfaction, and attempt to verify the effect of moderate the use of security equipments and grievance process in the relationship between the two variables. A survey was conducted on welfare team workers of 19 community centers operated by Nowon-gu from November 25 to 29, 2019, and the results of the empirical study were as follows. First, client violence was found to have a negative impact on job satisfaction. Second, the provision and utilization of security equipments had a positive effect on job satisfaction, but the effect of moderating the use of security equipments did not appear. Third, problem solving by grievance process has moderated the relationship between client violence and job satisfaction.
This study is meaningful in that it provided policy implications for solving security problems for welfare team workers by suggesting ways to alleviate job satisfaction caused by client violence experienced by ‘Outreach Community Service Center’ welfare team workers.
