The purpose of this study was to confirm that the concept of “big five personality traits(five factor model)” exists in Korean public administration. In addition, this study examined relations among big five personality, gender equality intention, gender equality behavior of public employee. The big five personality traits were extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, openness. In order to achieve the purpose, literature review was carried and next empirical research and analysis was conducted. Research results can be summarized as follows. First, the empirical results showed strong evidence for the concept of big five personality in Korean public administration. Second, public employee's big five personality traits related to extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness affecting with gender equality intention and behavior for men. Third, public employee's big five personality traits related to conscientiousness, neuroticism, openness affecting with gender equality intention and behavior for woman. Based on these research findings, practical and theoretical implications were discussed.
