The purpose of this study is to examine the direct and indirect influence ofrelated variables toward the governmental elderly employment service deliverysystem on successful aging by defining EWP as a productive activities of theaged. In order to create a suitable job aptitude, this study is designed tocompare urban areas with rural areas locating in Gyeongsangbuk-do province.The results of this study are as follows. First, the variables and paths thatinfluenced successful aging were analysed, which showed that the elderlyemployment service delivery system characteristics of EWP participants haddirect and indirect influence on successful aging through the service satisfaction.And there was a wide difference between urban area participants with ruralarea participants. Second, positive attitude to the activities in old age isconfirmed to be an important factor to help successful aging. The level ofsuccessful aging was higher in the rural area than in the urban area. The resultmay indicate that the participation in EWP can provide the opportunity ofsuccessful aging in conditions with lower income, insufficient opportunities ofwork and social activities, and scarce social welfare infrastructure in rural area.EWP as a productive activity should be socially encouraged to become arepresentative activity which leads a new culture for old age.
