A crematorium is one of the typical NIMBY facilities. Recently Seoul andGoyang city governments has conflicted with the Seoul MetropolitanMemorial(crematorium) for three years. Among many recent empirical studieswhich used the Hedonic Price Function Model, however, there is no coherentresults about the effect of NIMBTY facilities on the land price of neighborhood.This study analyses the effect of the Seoul Metropolitan Memorial on land pricein Goyang city, using seven years panel data. From the result of the randomeffect model analysis, we can conclude that the distance between from thecrematorium did not affect land price. But there are some limits in the analysis,we should interpret and generalize the conclusion carefully.
