Analysis on Relational Factors Affecting Local Government Employees’s Intention for Knowledge Sharingdownload
Knowledge sharing is a fundamental requirement of knowledge management,so it is essential that organizations develop means of encouraging knowledgesharing among organization members. Using a sample of 207 public workersfrom local government organizations located at Kyungnam province in Korea, this article aims to investigate the relationship between interactional justice(IJ)and knowledge sharing(KS) with organizational citizenship behavior(OCB) of thefollowers as a moderator. Data were collected on a structured questionnairecontaining standard scales of IJ, OCB, and KS.After setting up hypotheses for the analysis that both IJ and OCB(OCB-I andOCB-O) might make a positive effect on KS, the study analyzed the effectbeing affected by each concept respectively - IJ to OCB & KS, and OCB to KS- through statistical analysis of the data including hierarchical regressionanalysis and Sobel test. The reliabilities of the scales has been verified throughusing Cronbach's α coefficient. All scales have been proved to be over 0.8,signifying that they are reliable for the model analysis. The results indicate that there seems to be not only a significantly strongrelationship between IJ, OCB, and KS, but a moderately strong effects of OCBon the relationship between IJ and KS.An important implication of this study's findings is, as a result, that anemotionally interactional relationship should be taken into consideration toinduce the intention of KS among local government employees.
