The purpose of this study is to analysis the impact on selection processes and to selection criteria for territorial industry in Chungnam Province. This study put up 10 of local governments in Chungnam Province which collected 2010 territorial industry fostering project as the cases for analysis on the impact on selection processes of territorial industry, the peculiarity of selected territorial industry, and the selection criteria for territorial industry. And following are the major synthesized study contents.
First, looking at selection processes of territorial industry, most local governments appears to entrust their territorial industry fostering project planning to outside professional organizations, and they don’t have institutional bases for territorial industry. And local residents select territorial industry in the regions with fine territorial industry related bases, but otherwise, territorial industry were decided by the local governments’ intention.
Second, looking at the peculiarity of territorial industry selected by 10 of local governments in Chungnam Province, most of them appeared to have selected locally specialized 1st farm products as their territorial industry. And their territorial industries are typology into professional, networking, diversification strategies.
Third, the analysis on the impact on selection criteria for territorial industry in Chungnam Province showed locality and traditionality most influential among 5 detailed selection criteria. On the other hand, the impact of marketability and drive intention has been assessed low relatively, and its spreading appeared to be statistically significant in impact. To see all things above synthetically, the precise impact on selection of territorial industry in Chungnam Province seems to be locality and traditionality.
